Springfield’s community theatre, Springfield Little Theatre, has been recognized as one of the top community theatres in the country, while the Springfield Ballet instructs dancers from a very early age all the way through adulthood where they perform for thousands every year during their seasonal performances. Broadway stars Kim Crosby (Into the Woods), Robert Westenberg (Secret Garden and Into the Woods), Lisa Brescia (Dear Evan Hansen) and more live, work, and perform in Springfield. World-renowned opera star, Michael Spyres, calls Springfield home when he isn’t off performing to great acclaim in Europe. Many famous performers got their start through Springfield’s performing arts organizations.
